On January 17th 2009 our group, Ghost Hunters of the Ozarks held an event we called “The Cres-Hunt” at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR. The Cres-Hunt was an event we designed to allow us to invite non-ghost hunters, as well as other paranormal groups, to join us at the hotel for an overnight hunt. It gave us the oppurtunity to let others experience what we do during a hunt and give people with an interest a chance to learn more about paranormal activities.
We were very excited to capture several good electronic voice phenomenon (EVP’s), which are actual recordings of disembodied sounds or voices picked up in a haunted area. We also had several interesting personal experiences including electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors going off in areas of the hotel, and also having EMF detectors going off in response to questions that were asked by members of the Cres- Hunt event. Another experience we had was flashlights being turned on and off while they were sitting across the room from our group! In room 325 a black mass the size of a large beach ball was spotted by our lead investigator in his group.
The whole experience was fantastic and the staff was just amazing. They were incredibly helpful in organizing the rooms and event, even allowing us to investigate the basement which is known to have a great deal of paranormal events. We definitely recommend that anyone interested in the paranormal or even those that aren’t come and enjoy a stay at the Crescent Hotel.
